Homebuyers Centre understands its responsibility to be pro-active in the fight to sustain our environment and has employed the initiatives below to reduce its environmental footprint.
GreenPower
Homebuyers Centre’s office building and display homes now use 25% GreenPower Accredited Renewable Energy. ‘Natural Power’ by Synergy is energy that is generated from renewable sources that cannot be depleted or can be replaced, such as solar and wind. Generating renewable energy produces no greenhouse gas and therefore has minimal impact on the environment. The emissions from the remainder of Homebuyers Centre’s power usage is offset by trees planted by Carbon Neutral.
Carbon Neutral
Homebuyers Centre are proud to be part of the Carbon Neutral program. Emissions from the fuel consumption of company fleet vehicles are offset with trees planted by Carbon Neutral, ensuring Homebuyers Centre reduces its carbon dioxide emissions and the impact on our environment.
Revolution Display Home
Currently on display in the Contempo Display Village in Ellenbrook, the Revolution is setting a new standard for sustainable housing in Western Australia. Working with the environment and focusing on sustainable living, the Revolution aims to redefine how we live and the effect we have on the environment. Environmental features of the display home include:
- Passive solar design
- Brick veneer construction means less wastage and higher thermal ratings
- Insulation to reduce heating and cooling costs
- Roof ventilation allowing airflow through the home
- Solar water heating
- Skylights for natural lighting
- IRC globes which use 30% less power than standard low voltage downlights
- Fluorescent globes for recessed downlights
- 100% wool carpets—less chemicals and emission
- Rainwater tank to reduce water consumption
- Productive, low maintenance, water wise landscaping
