Impediments such as not having a deposit saved, not being able to secure finance because you haven’t been in your job long enough, having to make payments while your home is being built and sheer impatience can sometimes put people off wanting to build their own home.

But a new initiative from first-homebuyer specialist Homebuyers Centre is aiming to alleviate these problems and get buyers in their own homes as quickly as possible by offering complete, new homes to buy.

The builder’s 21 Days campaign, launched last weekend, is offering a range of homes both north and south of the river, fully finished and ready to move into in 21 days, with prices starting at $315,000.

“We at Homebuyers Centre, as well building house-and-land packages, also purchase land outright and construct houses to a finished level and pass them on to our clients,” sales and marketing manager Jared Stone explained of the new campaign.

The promotion provided an alternative to buying an established home for people who didn’t want to or couldn’t afford to make progress payments during the construction of a new home as they would need to pay rent or board in the interim, Mr Stone said.

It would also appeal to buyers who needed some extra time to save a deposit, required a few extra months in a new job to be able to secure finance or didn’t want to wait the year or so it generally takes to build a new home, Mr Stone explained.

There are 80 homes at different stages of construction that will be offered as part of the campaign, with the initial release including homes in Hammond Park and Butler, with a range of 3 x 2 and 2 x 1 designs available.

These homes will have open-plan layouts, kitchens with stainless steel appliances, floor coverings and window treatments, landscaped gardens and double garages with remote-controlled doors.
