Big porch gives an extra dimension

A room-sized porch with optional timber deck provides a pleasant place to sit back and relax at the front of the Homebuyers Centre’s attractive and practical Fiesta display, at South Yunderup.
The porch was included in the layout for the three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage home to comply with building covenants at Satterley Property Group’s Austin Cove residential estate.
Sales and marketing manager Jared Stone said a glazed sliding door provided a link from the home’s lounge room to the porch.
“The porch provides an attractive alternative to the rear alfresco area that you will find in many cottage homes, and is a great spot to sit back, relax and enjoy the outlook,” Mr Stone said.
A good-sized optional alfresco area at the back, sheltered by the double garage, provide a more private place to relax outdoors.
The porch extends across the front of the house to also shelter the front door, which opens to an entry hall divided from the lounge room by a screen wall.
On the opposite side of the hall, the main suite has a comfortable sleeping area brightened by a full-height window in its front wall, a deep walk-in robe and a neat ensuite with a big shower and separate toilet.
At the back of the entry is the open-plan living zone, where the kitchen, dining area and family room share a long and broad space.
The kitchen has a modified galley layout, with parallel benches providing lots of preparation space.
The fridge recess and pantry frame stainless-steel cooking appliances in a row of cabinets against the wall, and a parallel bench houses the sink, with a breakfast bar on its outside edge, next to the dining area.
Big windows in the side walls and a glazed sliding door at the back bring abundant natural light into every corner, and there are no structural boundaries between the family room and dining area, providing potential to alternate the furnishing.
Two minor bedrooms are in a wing to one side of the living zone, with the laundry and a bathroom. Each bedroom has a roe recess with shelf and rail.
