Affordable prices cap design pluses

First-homebuyers in the southern suburbs will have the chance to benefit from a concept in affordable complete home packages that has already had great success in the northern suburbs.

Specialist builder Homebuyers Centre is introducing its multi-award winning Flutes range of modern, budget-priced complete home packages at Settlers Hills Townside, in Baldivis, priced from $308,000. The price includes the land.

In a joint approach to providing affordable housing for the first-homebuyer market, the builder and developer Stockland are offering seven contemporary 3x2 Flutes homes on adjoining 225sqm sites in Angerton Mews.

The homes will overlook a landscaped park and be close to Baldivis town centre and Stockland Baldivis Shopping Centre.

Homebuyers Centre sales and marketing manager, Jared Stone said the compact and chic homes had been a big success in the northern coastal suburb of Butler.

Mr Stone said first-homebuyers remained the prime target market for the home, but their affordability and low-maintenance design also made them suitable for investors and down-sizers.

The contemporary homes have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas and seamless transitions between the interior and exterior areas, including a paved courtyard.

Separate entries, secure off-street double car parking and raised ceilings are included.

Mr Stone said Flutes homes were built with two sets of double-leaf brick work, which out four layers between home, for maximum privacy and minimal noise issues. The Settlers Hills Flutes were due to be complete by October 2011.

Stockland WA State developer manager Jarrod Rendell said the Flutes range epitomised the way of life on offer at Settlers Hills Townside.

“The Townside village is all about having more lifestyle, AND Flutes offers all the modern features people expect from the latest urban terrace-style design,” Mr Rendell said.

“Plus, at Townside people have the comfort of knowing they are within walking distance of shops, a pub, a 24-hour gym, a new medical centre, cafes and several established parks.

Mr Rendell said land at Townside was priced from $125,000 and there were a number of other home options available to suit blocks with 7.5m frontages.
