Accolades are already arriving for the Accolade, the first display home to open in the Glades estate, Byford. The Homebuyers Centre has designed the home with first-homebuyers in mind and HBC sales and marketing manager Jared Stone says they haven’t tried to please everyone with this home. “We design specifically for first-homebuyers, with affordability the key,” Mr Stone said. “The battle of affordability versus fiction is a real one but we think we’ve achieved that very well, with a great design and good zoning. “We haven’t tried to re-invent the wheel. Just provide a fantastic home for young couples that will stand the test of time and suit their needs as they start a family.” The gatehouse entry, planter box, 25-deg. pitch roof and modern windows add a stylish edge to the elevation. Entry from the porch is directly into the lounge room or theatre. Opposite is the main bedroom, creating a separate adult’s zone at the front of the home. Recessed windows in the bedroom create a sitting area. His-and-her walk-in robes sit either side of the entrance to the ensuite, which has a single vanity with a full-width mirror, a shower and separate toilet. The hub of the home is the spacious, light open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. A wide island bench/breakfast bar defines the kitchen, which is well equipped with underbench oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher recess, range hood, overhead cupboards and pantry. A sliding door opens the dining area to an extra-big alfresco area under the main roof line. The display shows how the outdoor dining and entertaining area can be extended with pergolas on both sides. Three more bedrooms are in their own zone, grouped around the family bathroom – which has a bath – the laundry and separate toilet. All three bedrooms have built in robes, and the laundry has sliding door linen and broom closets, and external access. The Accolade suits a 17m wide block.
